Course objectives

The course builds directly and comprehensively on the undergraduate course Law for Managers, i.e. on the fundamental body of legal knowledge intended for managerial professions. Its objective is to familiarise students with the steps necessary to commence business activities and to carry them out subsequently. Particular emphasis is placed on a thorough and advanced understanding of the legal framework set out in the Civil Code and related legislation.

Students will become acquainted with the detailed requirements of the contracting process and will develop their skills in contract-negotiation strategy. The course also addresses the legal limits of advertising in both public and private law. It further covers data protection and the protection of personal data. Finally, students will be introduced to methods of dispute resolution, investment protection in the Czech Republic, and the fundamentals of public procurement law.
