The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course is aimed at developing practical communication and presentation skills of students as future managers and specialists, mastering the principles of effective communication, mastering specific communication practices and techniques, as well as the ability of argumentation, discussion, negotiation and conflict resolution to find solutions in the form of consensus. Within the course, a fundamental emphasis will be placed on interactivity and practical involvement of students, practice of specific techniques based on case studies, solution of specific case assignments, etc. During the study, students will repeatedly communicate / present their thoughts and opinions, defend them against the opinions of others and persuade and gain others for their own goals, etc.

  • The main blocks of the study subject include the following topics:
  • 1. Introduction to the topic of communication
  • 2. Basic components of communication
  • 3. Verbal communication
  • 4. Non-verbal communication and its importance
  • 5. Presentation skills
  • 6. Public speech
  • 7. Speeches on social occasions
  • 8. Written communication and its principles
  • 9. International communication
  • 10. Moderation and facilitation of group meetings
  • 11. Argumentation and negotiation
  • 12. Conflict and conflict resolution
Assessment methods
Graded credit (on campus and online): completion of a specific assignment (e.g. realisation of a presentation, argumentation and defence of an opinion, resolution of a conflict situation, etc.) to the prescribed extent and quality (in the case of online learning, realised through appropriate remote electronic communication tools, usually in small-group form)
