Prerequisites
Knowledge of solving equations, calculations maxima and minima of functions, graphical representation of different functions and contexts graphs with numeric expression, basic high school knowledge of statistics, microeconomics, accounting, including financial statements, income tax management.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
Course objectives
Teaching of Business Economics. Explains the company as an institutionalized business in an ever-changing market environment, its objectives, functions, life stage, main activities and their management. It draws on the knowledge of general economic theory from other disciplines (management, statistics, mathematics, microeconomics, finance, accounting, taxes, law, etc.), it is a practical discipline: entrepreneurs, economists, managers, giving guidance on how to manage the business, solve problems , adapt to new business conditions to operate with the greatest efficiency and economy to generate new values and prevailed in a challenging market environment. The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills in business management, focused on application management work in the ever-changing conditions.
Syllabus
  • Lecture:
  • − Business objectives. Dynamics, discontinuity and complexity problems. Systemic approach. Process management. Functions of the enterprise. Managerial functions. Need to change the combination of production factors. Changes in ownership and financial structure of the company. Solving the problems of production capacity and capacity utilization.
  • − Principles of effective management of procurement activities, purchasing, material inventories, the optimal size of supply. Management of material use. Basics of efficient inventory management of work in progress, finished products, goods.
  • − Basics of management of cost and profit, incomplete utilization of contribution, break-even point analysis, the operating lever.
  • − The essence of marketing management. Methods of pricing of products.
  • − Principles of production activities.
  • − Management of developmental effectiveness of business processes, complex innovative actions. Planning in the company.
  • − Management of scientific and technical progress in the company. A comprehensive approach to the management effectiveness of business projects. Basics of investing activities.
  • − Personnel management in the company and the productivity of labor.
  • − Fundamentals of financial management.
  • − Principles of economy of tangible property, with tools, energy.
  • Exercise:
  • − Profitability of capital, sales; EVA. Assets and financial structure. Leverage. Time value of money. Production capacity and capacity utilization, the required number of working machines.
  • − Optimization of the size of supply of material. Standard material stock. Use of the material. Pareto (ABC) analysis in inventory control material. WIP inventory planning.
  • − Calculation of incomplete cost products. Relative savings in fixed costs. Operating leverage. Determining the parameters of cost functions. Break-even analysis in a diverse range of products. Contribution in business management.
  • − Methods of pricing of products.
  • − Determination of content of complex innovative actions. Comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of enterprise projects and their variants, incl. efficiency of investment projects.
  • − Determining the required number of workers. Productivity of living labor and its management.

Teaching methods

Assessment methods
Conditions of credit: (1) compulsory participation (lack of opportunity - only the teacher excused on compensation for absences teacher decides), (2) class exam (at least 60% of the maximum achievable points, one retake retake one evaluated in the same way). Examination Requirements: knowledge of the course and its practical applications. Form of examination: written: (1 question, 1 practical problem - example) for the classification of "3" is necessary to answer the question of classification and example solutions at least grade "3", ie the answer to the question is correct, but there are some important parts; solution to a practical problem - the example is correct, but contains a numerical error).
