The article deals with the development of the sharing economy, which has gained more importance in the last years and which with the development of the internet has transformed traditional forms of sharing in the digital era. It provides an overview of scientific knowledge and concepts related to the sharing economy and the franchise business model. It examines the relationships, compares and evaluates these business models, and highlights connections and divergences with classic business models. The aim of the article is to evaluate, on the basis of available scientific and professional knowledge, the theoretical concepts and possibilities offered by franchising models in the shared economy. At the same time, connect them with existing startups and businesses that operate in the shared economy, as well as analyze and evaluate their business model, on the basis of which they operate.
