Abstract

In the original language

In many operations, employees come into contact with hazardous substances as well as biological agents when performing their work duties, which can endanger their health. It is the duty of employers to protect their own employees from hazardous substances in the workplace and they are obliged to inform their employees about the risks posed by hazardous substances and hazardous environments. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to implement appropriate tools such as the risk criteria assessment method and the risk matrix within a metallurgical company with the special focus on the used oils. The case study shows that in the case of a suitably chosen system of oil protection, the savings can represent considerable financial resources, as well as environmental protection, which is the main goal. Part of the production process is to ensure the continuous operation of machinery, hydraulic and other equipment that uses various types of oils and lubricants for their operation and technical composition. The use of these oils and lubricants places an excessive burden on the safety and protection of human health as well as the environment. Preventing and eliminating negative impacts on human safety and health as well as the environment is a priority for managers in the area. © The Author(s).
