- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The course is designed to provide practical and theoretical overviews of the main concepts of culture and their contemporary development in the global context. Furthermore, the course ensures practical training in cross-cultural management and familiarises students with the impact of culture on business relationships and style of communication. Last but not least the course develops empathy and ability to interact in multi-cultural environment and stimulate cultural synergy. Course Objectives: - to demonstrate the basic and specialised knowledge in management and business administration and a critical understanding of this knowledge, moreover, a part of this knowledge complies with the highest level of achievement in this branch of science or profession, - to define and describe analytically information, problems and solutions in business, to explain them and to provide arguments when discussing these with both specialist and non- specialists, - to obtain, select and analyse information independently and to use it, to take decisions and solve problems in the concrete venue of science or profession; Able to work in a multicultural environment, - to demonstrate cultural fluency and intercultural awareness; understand the essence of cultural differences
- Syllabus
- Main topics of the course (topics of seminars): 1. The impact of (de)globalization on development of culture. 2. The nature of cross-cultural communication. 3. Cultural Universals. Equality and understanding of social justice. 4. Cultural dimensions and their practical application in business related situations. 5. Adaptability to other cultures. Cultural shock. 6. Corporate culture and management styles. 7. Specific cultural connections (diversity, gender relations, virtual teams, etc.) 8. Cross-Cultural negotiations 9. Global etiquette and cultural specifics of different nations. 10. The role of AI and Technology in Cross-Cultural Management 11. Trends and Perspectives and Multicultural Competences Development 12. Corporate Social Responsibility in a Cross-Cultural Context The topics of the seminars correspond to the topics of the lectures, each topic is devoted to a pair of seminars, i.e. a time span of 0 x 2 teaching hours. Continious assessment up to 40% (in-class): Preparation of a group presentation on the topic of Business Negotiations and Cross-Cultural Management - up to 20% for preparation and 20% for delivering the presentation in class. The results of the preparation and presentation are considered as part of the final grade for the course.

- Continious assessment up to 40% (in-class): Preparation of a group presentation on the topic of Business Negotiations and Cross-Cultural Management - up to 20% for preparation and 20% for delivering the presentation in class. The results of the preparation and presentation are considered as part of the final grade for the course. Final written exam up to 60% of the total grade (in-class): The written final test is focused on the content of the course seminars. The final grade is a sum of the continious assessement and the final exam.
