- Course objectives
This 12-week course is delivered in a blended online format consisting of guided self-study (2 hours per week) and interactive online seminars held every two weeks. The course is designed for students at B2 and C1 proficiency levels and focuses on the development of advanced Business English communication skills and professional interaction strategies.
Self-study components include structured review activities covering Units 1–6 from previous courses (AJ1–AJ3), enabling students to consolidate previously acquired language competencies. This review also serves students who intend to take the optional paid university certification examination verifying their language proficiency level.
Synchronous online seminars focus primarily on Units 7–8, emphasizing professional communication, discussion-based activities, and application of business vocabulary and communication strategies. The final course test is based exclusively on Units 7–8.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

Communicate effectively in spoken and written English at B2–C1 level in professional and business contexts.

- Syllabus
The course consists of guided self-study activities and biweekly interactive online seminars.
Self-study component (Weeks 1–12):
Structured review of previously studied coursebook material (Units 1–6 from AJ1–AJ3), consolidation exercises focused on vocabulary, grammar, and professional communication skills, and preparation activities supporting participation in online seminars. The review component also prepares interested students for the optional university language certification examination.Online seminar component (biweekly):
Interactive seminars focus on coursebook Units 7–8, emphasizing professional discussion, collaborative tasks, applied business communication practice, and presentation-based activities. - Teaching methods
The course is delivered through a blended learning format combining guided asynchronous self-study and interactive online seminars held every two weeks. The self-study component includes structured coursebook assignments, guided review activities, vocabulary and grammar consolidation tasks, and independent preparation for seminar discussions.
Online seminars are conducted using communicative and task-based teaching methods and include guided discussions, collaborative problem-solving activities, case-based exercises, short presentations, and feedback sessions designed to support the development of professional communication skills in English.
- Assessment methods
Course completion is awarded in the form of a graded course credit evaluated using the A–F grading scale based on the institutional 10-point grading system. Due to the blended online format of the course, attendance is not a formal requirement.
Assessment is based on active participation in scheduled online seminar activities, completion of assigned self-study tasks where required, and successful completion of the final written test, which is based exclusively on coursebook Units 7–8. The instructor reserves the right to adjust assessment requirements if necessary.
