- Course objectives
This 12-week seminar is an interactive, student-centered course focused on developing foundational Business English communication skills at the A2 level. The course uses the Business Partner A2 coursebook (Financial Times Publishing) and supports the development of practical workplace communication abilities through guided speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities.
Students practice everyday professional communication tasks such as introducing themselves, describing companies and products, handling basic workplace interactions, participating in simple meetings, and writing short professional messages. The course also introduces basic structured thinking and problem-solving activities appropriate to the A2 level to support clear communication in professional contexts.- Learning outcomes
pon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
Communicate in basic spoken and written English in common workplace situations at A2 level.
Use essential business vocabulary related to companies, products, and everyday professional activities.
Participate in simple workplace interactions such as short meetings, introductions, and basic discussions.
Write short professional emails and messages using appropriate basic structures.
Apply simple structured thinking when responding to workplace communication tasks.

- Teaching methods
- The course is delivered using communicative and task-based teaching methods emphasizing active participation. Seminars include guided discussions, pair and group activities, role-plays, short presentations, and practical communication exercises designed to simulate everyday workplace situations.
- Assessment methods
- Course completion is awarded in the form of a graded course credit evaluated using the A–F grading scale based on the institutional 10-point grading system. Requirements include active participation in seminars, one short professional presentation, and successful completion of the final written test. The instructor reserves the right to adjust assessment requirements if necessary.
