Course objectives
The Master's degree program "Economics and Management" is designed as a professional program, therefore completing professional practice significantly helps to fulfill the graduate's profile, especially in relation to acquiring and consolidating knowledge in the field of business economics and business financing, knowledge of business activities and processes, including methods, tools and technologies for their management, knowledge of the legislative framework for the functioning of entrepreneurially oriented economic entities, including the tax framework and methods of accounting data recording, as well as general awareness of the broader context and impacts of economic activity, including the principles of sustainable development. Specifically, professional practice is intended to prepare for the performance of a managerial function, in particular to learn and master individual management functions (planning, organizing, leading and controlling) at the application level and to master knowledge and skills of managerial approaches, methods and procedures for the implementation of specific business activities. Internships are implemented in the environment of business entities, as well as other organizations, with which NEWTON University has numerous framework or individual agreements on the performance of students' internships. For each internship, a draft assignment and plan for completing the internship must be prepared and approved by the internship guarantor or a person authorized by him. From each internship, the student must then prepare a written output in the form of a "Report on the internship", as well as subsequently complete the so-called "colloquium".
Assessment methods
Continuous credit: awarded by the internship guarantor at the moment of approval of the assignment proposal and the plan for completing the study professional internship (no later than in the 2nd semester of study) Credit: preparation and submission of the "Study Professional Internship Report" and subsequent completion of the so-called "colloquium" of 6 teaching hours, which takes the form of a small-group (10-12 students) discussion of the outcomes of the professional internship
