Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The subject creates conditions for the successful preparation and subsequent defense of the final qualification, i.e. diploma thesis. During the lectures, the student is guided so that he is able to properly prepare the diploma thesis in terms of content. As part of this, he will be guided to be able to use the theoretical and practical knowledge he has acquired during his studies to choose and develop a topic. To a lesser extent, attention will also be paid to the formal aspect of preparing the diploma thesis (this aspect is subsequently focused on in the follow-up subject Diploma Seminar in the third semester of study).
Syllabus
  • Definition of the content and scope of the diploma thesis 
  • Methodology and methods usable in the preparation of the diploma thesis
  • Choosing a topic and its elaboration 
  • Searching for relevant publication and information sources 
  • Preparing and designing the research 
  • Choosing and designing data collection methods 
  • Selection of persons as research participants and organizing data collection 
  • Processing the obtained research outputs (quantitative using statistics and qualitative) 
  • Evaluating the results and formulating the conclusions of the research investigation 
  • Methodology of the process of creating the text of the diploma thesis 
  • Use of IT in the creation of the diploma thesis 
  • Defending the final qualification (diploma thesis)
Assessment methods
Credit: elaboration of the plan for the student's future diploma thesis, including the topic of the thesis, a proposal for the form of the thesis goal/goals and an outline of a usable methodology
