Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to rational methods of solving decision-making problems in the public and private sectors, to gain knowledge about decision-making processes and their structure, to introduce the application of the principles of teamwork and the choice of decision-making style, to explain the basic methods and tools of decision-making under certainty, risk and uncertainty, to describe risk management. Last but not least, to develop the ability to create and apply theoretical knowledge in accordance with the principles of critical thinking.

  1. Introduction to the issue of managerial decision-making 
  2. The course of decision-making processes, classification of decision-making problems and processes 
  3. Situational analysis and identification of decision-making problems 
  4. Analysis of decision-making problems, methods of causal analysis 
  5. Information acquisition, types and sources of data. 
  6. Methodology of acquisition and verification 
  7. Selection of criteria and methods of determining the weights of criteria 
  8. Creation of variants and determination of their consequences 
  9. Evaluation of variants, multi-criteria decision-making 
  10. Specifics of decision-making under uncertainty and risk 
  11. Group decision-making, methods, styles, procedures 
  12. Choice of decision-making style Risk management in business systems

Credit: preparation and submission of a credit seminar paper that meets the specified requirements. 

Exam: written final test.
