Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire professional vocabulary in the following areas: job description, working conditions, company activities and history, telephoning, internal communication, sales figures, product description, work performance, business correspondence, etc. The learning outcomes include the basics of clear communication and the consolidation of language competences. Graduates of the course are introduced to the key concepts of Business English and to the language of the business world.
Syllabus
  1. Quality. What quality means? Taken-for-granted quality, enchanting quality, and planned obsolescence.

  3. Quality and standards. Word-building, adjectives relating to quality, collocations.
  4. Quality. Passive structures and have sth done.
  5. Quality. Delivering presentations. Presenting a product.

  7. Feedback. The project team. Reading: Smells like team spirit. Discussion: Project management.

  9. Feedback. Managing people and projects. Character descriptions, adjectives for character types. Colloquial expression.

Assessment methods

Full-time form of study:

The basic requirement for obtaining a graded credit is at least 80% attendance at seminars, preparation of a presentation on a professional topic, and successful completion of the final test.

Combined form of study:

Students in the combined form of study must submit an individual essay in order to successfully complete the course; the essay is subsequently assessed by the teacher. The test required to obtain the graded credit is written, and its content covers all individual seminars within the course.
