Course objectives
The aim of this course is to describe methods that can help a company to return back to business in difficult times, recover its finances and achieve entrepreneurial and financial balance. Acquired skills: The ability to assess information about the company and its environment. The ability to appropriately respond to new situations while minimising losses and searching for new opportunities that arise from the emerging crises. The ability to negotiate under pressure. Practicing managers from outside the university are invited to act as external lecturers during the course to motivate the students to a deeper interest in the topic.

  • The basic syllabus of the course consists of the following topics:
  • 1. Identification and management of corporate risks
  • 2. Setting up an early warning system
  • 3. Development of a crisis
  • 4. Reversal strategy
  • 5. Optimization of cash-flow in crisis
  • 6. Communication in crisis I
  • 7. Communication in crisis II
  • 8. Strategic partnerships
  • 9. Crisis in business growth
  • 10. Insolvency and liquidation of a company
  • 11. Resuscitation, restructuring and revitalisation of a company
  • 12. Psychological aspects of crisis management
Assessment methods
Examination: (on campus and online) defence of a prepared seminar thesis corresponding to the set requirements + oral examination (in the case of the online form realized by means of remote electronic communication)
