- Course objectives
- The course Ethical Aspects of Management deals with
ethical management in private and public institutions. Students
are provided with a history of ethical views on society and the
economy (social ethics) and the applied form of the so-called
"business ethics" in modern managerial approaches. The course
is set in a broader context of social, economic, and
environmental backgrounds. Following the development of ethical
standards, applied ethics in the management environment is
emphasized. The particular topics represent positive and
negative connections in the ethical approach to business in
the global world. Students are provided with the normative
social ethics and current trends in business and public
administration.
The course supposes the student's independent work based on knowledge gained from the current ethical management. Part of the course is the students' research, in which they analyze the ethical tools use in a particular institution and compare their effectiveness with other managerial approaches. The students present the research results orally and in writing. - Syllabus
