Course objectives
The course is designed to introduce students to the issues of international and area studies. It complements and further expands the scope of International and Area Studies I, and aims to contribute to an understanding of the nature of the contemporary world in which you live, in which its transnational and international character on the one hand, and its regional or supra-regional character on the other, play a crucial role. The course focuses on contemporary issues and challenges with global implications. The lecture part of the course deals with general issues, reflecting in particular economic and demographic facts about the different subject areas. The seminar part then focuses on practical issues of a commercial and cultural nature determining the subsequent specific strategies for entering the local market, taking into account local consumer profiles, etc. Course Objectives: to draw attention to the international and regional nature of the contemporary world; highlight the deeply international and regional character of the contemporary economic world; to reflect the major issues and challenges of our time with global implications; to learn about economic and demographic facts as well as other aspects (cultural, social, etc.) determining the necessary strategies for entering local markets.
