The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course introduces students to basic legal concepts, especially in the areas and legal problems addressed theoretically in lectures and practice seminars on particular legal topics. Specific legal concepts and problems include the legal system, and legal force, the concept and definition of law, normative legal acts, legal norms, validity and effectiveness of legislation, legal proceedings, subjects and objects of law, time in law, including deadlines, counting time, limitation of time, prescription period, and other. Other areas include fundamental knowledge and contract law skills, individual basic types of contracts, especially concluding, changing, and cancelling obligations and securing them. The course will provide students with basic knowledge of procedural law, civil court, and alternative dispute management. The course will introduce the individual legal professions (lawyers, notaries, judges, and bailiffs). The course also deals with fundamental aspects of European law, administrative law, and criminal law. The course graduate has the basic legal knowledge necessary to study other legal subjects, especially commercial law and business practice. The graduate can formulate essential obligations, deal with legal professions in court proceedings, analyze legal problems, and discuss substantive legal issues professionally.
