Course objectives
The aim of this compulsory course is to provide students with basic knowledge of project management, its content, scope and uses within process management. The purpose is to convince the students to use project management principles in everyday life and equip them with the necessary practical knowledge to do so. Prerequisites for successful project management are: process-oriented thinking, systemic view of things, making the best use of limited sources and structuring tasks in time. Thus, during the course, students learn all these skills. Project managers from outside the university are invited to act as external lecturers during the course. In seminars, students will work on case studies and assignments taken from real life situations of business and non-profit organisations.

  • Project planning, hierarchy of activities
  • Estimating time, budget planning, the impact of limited resources, risks and reserves
  • Managing the project
  • Risk in the context of project management
  • Project evaluation
  • The role of project manager and his competencies
  • Presentation of team projects with subsequent discussion
Assessment methods
Ungraded credit: (on campus) min. 75% attendance at seminars, obtaining the specified minimum points for activity at seminars, credit paper and continuous work and presentation of a team project; (online) submission of a credit seminar paper meeting the specified requirements. Examination: (on campus) oral examination; (online) oral examination and defence of the seminar paper (realized in person or remotely)
