- Course objectives
- The course aims to introduce students to the issues of politics, political science, and current social and political development - both in the conditions of the Czech Republic and European countries and beyond. It is based on classical political science (political theories, elections, electoral systems, political parties and party systems, and others), combined with the theoretical definition of political and social systems and their practical application. In addition to necessary theoretical basis, students will be provided with current issues of particular countries, their societies, and policies (migration, demographic change, growing cultural and political conflicts, growing social inequality, the emergence of new political parties and movements, crises of existing political models and political systems, so-called traditional parties, and others), which fundamentally change their character.
